Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 Course Offerings

2010 - 2011 MPA Information Sessions

In 1996, Suffolk University began offering its nationally accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree on the campus of Cape Cod Community College.  After more than a decade, the Suffolk MPA on Cape Cod continues to challenge, inform, and advance the careers of today’s leaders in all levels of government, nonprofits, and public service.  All courses are offered on the West Barnstable campus of Cape Cod Community College.  Additionally, accelerated courses and distance learning options increase scheduling flexibility.  Courses on the Cape are identical to those offered at Suffolk’s main campus in Boston and are taught by Suffolk University MPA faculty.

MPA Curriculum

The Suffolk MPA is a 49-credit program that links contemporary theory with “real world” practice, resulting in a cutting-edge graduate education experience.  The MPA’s mission is to grow each student’s analytical, administrative, and leadership skills in preparation for careers in government, nonprofits, and public service.  The MPA curriculum consists of: a 1 credit Introductory Course, 24 credits of core courses, 21 credits of electives, and a three credit capstone course.  An internship is also required for pre-career students.

Careers

MPA alumni are employed in various fields including: municipal management, human resources, information technology, legislative staff, lobbying, grant-writing, and marketing.  Suffolk University holds regular alumni events on Cape Cod.
